What a person sitting on a couch will understand, what do people living in utter poverty have to go through. Whenever we see a person begging by the side of the red lights, we either provide them with some monetary help or many a times go without even noticing them. We are equipped with all sorts of facilities that we at times do not value. It is not that we do not think of them, but the thing is, we are so busy in our lives that these things go unnoticed. We pondered over all these and finally came to the conclusion that if we want to do something for them, We have to meet them personally, understand their problems and work accordingly. So, we made arrangements and gathered in on a Sunday that is the 22nd of Feb. We met at central park, Connaught place. There we had our discussions on the issue. After the meeting, we split ourselves into two-two each and went to distant parts of the place. We met children below the age of 7. We have made friends with them and received the same friendliness from them. But we did not get the same response from their parents; rather they refused to interact with us. The sad part we got to know is that they want to study and learn but were forced to get their bread and butter for their family. On one side where the world is striving to get the tagline of a 'developed economy’ and here on the other side children are made to work in the worst of situations. Here a question arises as to how can a country prosper where a child a deprived of his rights of getting even the primary education. While searching for the cause for this loss of innocence amongst the children we saw certain people keeping note of their every move. Who were they and why were they keeping a watch on them, is what our concern. The next time we meet we are going to solve this mystery behind this.
